What is a YAM?
OK, I am not going to be an expert on this
subject. Plus I am not going to get into what a sweet potato is, but… have you
ever thought that Christianity is being used as the same thing when it comes to
domination's?
Discussion: What is a YAM?
Young Adult Ministry = Y.A.M. is a great ministry to
engage the youth and young adults to bring them into a venue that gives them
support to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a humanistic, secular, fallen
world. Your post: "have you ever thought that Christianity is been used as
the same thing when it comes to domination's?" I don't believe
Christianity is using YAM as a food - unless you choose to use the allegory
that Christian ministries are sweet spiritual food for both soul and spirit.
We are one Body in Christ. The Body is supposed to
love and care for others as it loves and cares for itself, as Christ feeds and
cares for each one of us. 1Corinthians 12: "The eye cannot say to the
hand, “I don't need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don't need
you!”
The YAM ministries give youth and young adults the
love, friendship, and counsel they need to defend themselves against the tough
challenges in the world today that tempt and bully the youth and young adults
to embrace sin and to turn away from Christ. YAM provides a common ground that
goes beyond denominational boundaries and unites youth and young adults in the
single bond of faithfulness and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.
YAM ministry may be found in many denominations. For

What is a YAM?
I would love to read others response to this
commit...
But for me, I am thinking on how things could be so
confusing and mis-used, miss-leading.
Christianity- in short, is having faith in God,
faith in our LORD and Savior...
Domination's- the idea of exercising control or
even, power
However, this is an Interesting approach to
Christianity… Yam and Sweet Potato both are plants and at times are called the
SAME THING … one could be large and sweet to the taste … the other is IMPORTED
The question “What is a YAM"? Reminds me of
comparing the wheat (GRAIN) and tares (WEEDS)….very similar at a GLANCE.
The Parable of the Wheat and Tares and the Kingdom
of Heaven -
Matthew 13:24-30 King James Version (KJV)
24. Another parable put that he forth unto them,
saying, the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in
his field:
25. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed
tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought
forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27. So the servants of the householder came and said
unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath
it tears?
28. He said unto them, an enemy hath done this. The
servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the
tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in
the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

What is a YAM?
Absolutely--so many varieties from which to choose,
and each has it's own positives and negatives. That's why I love this group so
much--just a bunch of believers sharing their faith, building each other up
without denominational barriers, and occasionally agreeing to disagree about
specific doctrinal issues; but never compromising on our unity in Christ Jesus.
